GO volunteers have an excellent opportunity to share their skills and love for the arts as they connect with people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are a high school or college student, a working adult or retiree, we have opportunities for you to enrich your life and the lives of others, meet people with similar interests, and help fulfill our mission while having fun!
Volunteers are a crucial part of the operation of the Gulfshore Opera whether you help onstage, backstage, or front of house (ushering).
Our volunteers are integral to our success!
GO Ambassadors is a volunteer support group for the organization, which is chaired by Board member Beverly Wernette. Its charter is to network and promote Gulfshore Opera events, increasing ticket sales and revenues, in addition to organizing intimate Social Outreach fundraisers and promoting the Harmony Choir and its mission. .Ambassadors are the cheerleaders for Gulfshore Opera, and its Committee members can be found at performances and events, greeting ticket holders and friends with a smile. An example of one of the Ambassador special events was the very successful Mamma Mia party last Season.
Beverly is always looking for new recruits, and encourages anyone interested in joining the group to please contact her at bfwernette@gmail.com. She guarantees that being a GO Ambassador will be a rewarding experience and a great way to make new friends!

Front of House Volunteers
Volunteers work primarily during performances, serving as greeters, ticket-takers, and ushers. They arrive 90 minutes before the performance start time. While they may choose their own performances, assignments are given on a first-come first-served basis.
Back Stage Volunteers
Volunteers assist the production team in many ways. They may join the Costume Creation Team, Wardrobe team(Dressers, etc), the stage crew or the set crew.
Harmony Choir Volunteers
Volunteers assist Harmony Choir music education teachers at community events, concerts and field trips. Learn more about GO’s Harmony Choir program here.
Opera Chorus
Opera Chorus Skilled Adult Chorus members and the Youth Opera Chorus (7-15) receive high level instruction and perform in full-scale professional opera productions and concerts January through April. Auditions are held each fall.
