Crafted by a creative team including returning directors Josh Shaw and Jorge Parodi, and designed with a modern fantasy flair, this interpretation weaves a tale of enchantment where love’s warmth contends with an icy curse. Elixir of Love
Donizetti’s charming comedy is about a wide eyed country boy in love with the mayor’s daughter, so what setting could be better than a small farming town in the old west? In this ingenious update, the naive Nemorino believes that a love potion will win Adina’s heart. Blossoming from a shy cowboy to a plucky entrepreneur, he captures both his sweetheart and the American dream over the course of this delightful opera buffa.
The colorful touring opera production features nationally renowned artists, chamber orchestra and sets. English subtitles will be provided.

Each year Gulfshore Opera presents a full scale grand opera production featuring nationally recognized soloists and directors. The Grand Opera production is performed at Artis–Naples with the Naples Philharmonic orchestra and at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center in Punta Gorda and Barbara B. Mann in Fort Myers with an all professional GO orchestra and chorus. In addition, GO tours various Southwest Florida venues with a chamber opera production.
I think it was extremely well done. I’m a past 40 year subscriber to the Lyric Opera of Chicago and find Gulfshore Opera productions extremely well done. The Barbara Mann Theatre acoustics are very good.
