We are so pleased to finally present this special gift, four months in the making, to you! Music has a way of opening our hearts and helping us feel connected to others and the world around us. During these trying times of uncertainty, we hope this musical message, to lean on our friends, brings you joy and inspiration.
This virtual performance project is symbolic of one of our mission goals, to enrich the lives of a diverse cross section of the Southwest Florida community. We miss our Harmony Choir students and wanted to stay connected by providing a motivational activity during quarantine. Participants attended four free online instructional classes lead by our three teachers and then video recorded their individual performance on their mobile phones. Some received additional individual support from Erika Ramirez, our bilingual teacher. Parents were grateful to have an uplifting activity to help their kids overcome the boredom and isolation. The GO Divas enthusiastically supported this community engagement activity and two board members, Linda Coyle and Mary McVay sponsored the project.
