Rebecca Krynski Cox

Soprano

Hailed by The New York Times as a “vibrant soprano…with a secure, appealing sound and eye-opening volume.” Recently returned from the Luzerner Theater in Switzerland has performed Mimì (La Bohème) at Florida Grand Opera. Cox appears this season with North Carolina Opera and Indianapolis Opera.

Brianna Murray

Soprano

Praised for having “one of those soprano voices, clear, perfectly placed, angelic, that could go on all day and I would still want more” (Herald Times). Other recent highlights include Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Frasquita in Carmen. In addition to performing, Brianna is a teaching artist with the Lyric Opera of Chicago.  

Edward Brennan

Tenor

Hailed as a “powerhouse” by The Post and Courier, known for his fierce interpretations and rich, baritonal vocal quality. A graduate of the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices, he returns to GO after his acclaimed debut performance in Rusalka.

Nathan Matticks

Baritone

One of opera’s most exciting young talents, praised for his “powerful” and “sonorous” baritone (Opera World, Parterre). Recent credits include Verdi’s Rigoletto with Houston’s Opera in the Heights and Marcello in La Bohème with Charleston Opera Theater. Matticks was a recent prizewinner at the Loren L. Zachary Competition.

Gregory Buchalter

Collaborative Pianist

Music director and conductor of Varna International and Vero Beach Opera, with credits including Florida Grand Opera, Vienna Volksoper, Savonlinna Opera Festival, and the Metropolitan Opera. He recently appeared with the Vienna Summer Music Festival and Opera Orlando.

Verdi Does Shakespeare!

An intimate and powerful concert exploring opera scenes inspired by Shakespeare’s greatest plays. The program features selections from Verdi’s Otello, Macbeth, and Falstaff, Gounod’s Romeo and Juliette, Thomas’ Hamlet, and showstoppers from West Side Story.

Featuring full lyric soprano Rebecca Krynski Cox, recently returned from a fest artist season at the Luzerner Theater in Switzerland, performing Desdemona’s death scene from Otello. She is joined by powerful baritone Nathan Matticks and other nationally recognized opera artists.
