Hailed by The New York Times as a “vibrant soprano…with a secure, appealing sound and eye-opening volume,” Rebecca Krynski Cox is thrilled to join Gulfshore Opera for the Voice of Shakespeare concert series. The 2025-26 season also includes Leonora (Il trovatore) with North Carolina Opera, and Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) with Indianapolis Opera. Last season, she appeared as Mimì (La bohème) with Knoxville Opera, and Verdi’s Requiem with the Key Chorale in Sarasota, FL. Other recent credits include Mimì (La Bohème) at Florida Grand Opera, Leonore (Fidelio) Opera Company of Middlebury, Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) Charleston Opera Theater; Mother (Amahl) Dayton Opera; As a Fest and Guest Artist at the Luzerner Theater in Switzerland, she sang Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Elisabetta (Maria Stuarda), Alice Ford (Falstaff), & Tatyana (Eugene Onegin).
Brianna Murray is praised for having “one of those soprano voices, clear, perfectly-placed, angelic, that could go on all day and I would still want more” (Herald Times). Brianna spent the past 2 years as a studio artist with Madison Opera, where she performed the role of Jeanette in L’amant Anonyme and covered both Cunegonde in Candide and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. Other recent highlights include Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Frasquita in Carmen, and Clorinda in La Cenerentola, and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte. Equally comfortable on the musical theater stage, Brianna performed the role of Anne Egerman in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music at the Quisisana Resort. In addition to performing, Brianna is a teaching artist with the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Hailed as a “powerhouse” by The Post and Courier, American tenor Edward Brennan is recognized for his “fierce” interpretations and rich, “baritonal” vocal quality. Since his professional debut with Utah Festival Opera in 2017, Edward has performed with companies such as Opera MODO (Detroit), Cedar Rapids Opera Theater, and Charleston Opera Theater. He has been a finalist in prestigious competitions nationwide, including the Michael Ballam International Opera Competition and the Nicholas Loren Vocal Competition.
In 2019, he joined the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices, a renowned training program dedicated to cultivating dramatic voices worldwide. There, he studied under internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick and worked with music staff from Deutsche Oper Berlin and La Scala.
Baritone Nathan Matticks has rapidly emerged as one of opera’s most exciting young talents. The 2023/2024 season concluded with Matticks placing among the winners at the prestigious Loren L. Zachary Competition Grand Finals in Los Angeles. Highlights of the season included a return to his acclaimed portrayal of Verdi’s Rigoletto with Houston’s Opera in the Heights. The Houston Press hailed his account of the role as “a thunderous, yet sympathetic jester, whose vengeful wrath is heartfelt and terrifyingly portrayed.”
The 2024/2025 season included a reprise of Marcello in La Bohème for Charleston Opera Theater and a return to Charleston Symphony Orchestra for Handel’s Messiah.
Excelling in the complex repertoire of Verdi, Puccini, Leoncavallo, Donizetti, and Rossini, among others, several national media outlets have praised his “powerful baritone” (Opera World), “sonorous, full-voiced” quality of his singing (Parterre), and “suave baritone” (Broadway World).
Gregory Buchalter, a collaborative pianist, currently serves as music director and conductor of both Varna International and Vero Beach Opera. He has received rave reviews for his frequent appearances at the Florida Grand Opera, where he has recently conducted A Streetcar Named Desire, Tosca, and Pagliacci. He regularly performs with the South Florida Symphony and has recently appeared with the Vienna Summer Music Festival and Opera Orlando.
Internationally, Maestro Buchalter made his debut with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra with the Mozart Requiem earlier this year and has conducted Salome at the Savonlinna Opera Festival, Die Fledermaus at the Vienna Volksoper, Mozart’s Entführung aus dem Serail at the Spoleto Festival, Così fan Tutte with the Mediterranean Opera Festival in Italy, and Eugene Onegin with the New Opera World Festival in Moscow. Buchalter was a cover conductor and the maestro di banda at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
