Our Mission

To enrich the community of Southwest Florida by presenting accessible, high-quality vocal music performances with classically trained artists and to foster a sense of belonging within our diverse community through various music-based activities.

Artistic
Integrity

Under the guidance of General Director Steffanie Pearce, the company engages a balanced ensemble of high-quality international, national, and regional performers to present the finest live opera theater and classical vocal performance in the tri-county region. The programs inspire audiences, and professional artists are eager to perform with the company.

Financial
Responsibility

Gulfshore Opera maintains the highest financial responsibility and is a valued community partner. Our financial integrity is reflected in our commitment to operating with a lean staff and low overhead while maintaining a solid organizational structure. Accountant Amy Brower manages financial operations overseen by our treasurer, Elaine Christian, CPA. GO is honored to hold a platinum Guidestar seal of approval for financial transparency.

Community
Engagement

Gulfshore Opera does more than produce opera and concerts. Making a positive social impact in the Southwest Florida region is essential to the GO mission. GO is teaching the art of belonging to a diverse cross-section of the Southwest Florida community through various social enrichment activities.

PUBLIC SUPPORT

GO has been awarded grants by the State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, the Collier Community Foundation, Publix Charities, the City of Fort Myers, the City of Punta Gorda, the Tourist Development Council of Collier County, Charlotte Community Foundation, the Cornelius Bailey Foundation, and the Tourist Development Council of Lee County.

STRATEGIC PLAN

The current GO strategic plan, adopted in season 10, sets the direction and goals for the following five years, concluding with the 2028-29 season. These vary in nature from enduring intentions such as Our Organizational Values and Mission to others that are time-specific. The board of directors develops and reviews an annual action plan every season. This keeps us working steadily, in sync, towards Our Vision for the future.
