Andrea Baker, praised for her “clear, bright soprano” by Opera News, recently debuted as Violetta with Anchorage Opera. This season, she returns as Mimì in La bohème and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte. Recent roles include Donna Elvira and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, and Marzelline in Fidelio. In 2023, Andrea won the Edward M. Murray International Competition. She was an Artist in Residence at Pensacola Opera, covering roles such as Juliette in Roméo et Juliette. Andrea has performed at numerous opera companies and is celebrated for her versatility and vocal brilliance.
Hailed as a “powerhouse” by The Post and Courier, tenor Edward Brennan is recognized for his “fierce” interpretations and rich, “baritonal” vocal quality. In 2024, he performs Canio in Pagliacci, Luigi in Il tabarro, and the title role in Lohengrin. He has sung with Opera MODO, Cedar Rapids Opera Theater, and Charleston Opera Theater and was a finalist in the Michael Ballam International Opera Competition. A concert soloist with major orchestras, he trained at the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices. Brennan is also Director of Development and Operations for Charleston Opera Theater in South Carolina.
Returning favorite Tyler Putnam, bass-baritone, has been praised for his “robust and resonant” voice and versatile performances. Recent performances with Gulfshore Opera include the Mandarin in Turnadot and Leporello in Don Giovanni.He recently made his European debut as Sparafucile and Monterone in Rigoletto in Sweden. His other U.S. roles include Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, and Colline in La bohème. Tyler’s career spans traditional roles, world premieres, operetta, and musical theater. He recently performed the villain Marduk in Cosmic Cowboy and originated the role of Cura Viejo in Behold the Man. Lauded for her “lower extension that has to be heard to be believed,” NYC-based contralto Emily Geller is a rising star. In 2024/25, she sings the Marquise of Berkenfield in La fille du régiment (Opera Santa Barbara, Opera Company of Middlebury), Second Lady in The Magic Flute (Tri-Cities Opera), Ježibaba in Rusalka (Gulfshore Opera), the Page in Salome (Union Avenue Opera), Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance (Salt Marsh Opera), and returns to Pacific Opera Project for Die Fledermaus and H.M.S. Pinafore. She has performed with St. Petersburg Opera, Newport Classical, Opera North, and more. She holds degrees from New England Conservatory and Binghamton University.
Baritone Chancelor Barbaree, from Amarillo, TX, returns to GO after completing the Professional Artist Workshop and the Holiday Taste of Opera. He will join Vero Beach Opera in 2024-2025 as Doctor Grenvil in La Traviata and perform Manfred Lewin in Jake Heggie’s For a Look or a Touch with Bold City Opera. He will also sing Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors and the title role in Gianni Schicchi. Recently, he performed Don Alfonso in Così fan Tutte with Opera NEO and was a Gerdine Young Artist with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. His past roles include Marco in Gianni Schicchi and Fiorello in The Barber of Seville. Chancelor has also won multiple vocal competition awards.
Aaron Santos, GO Emerging Artist, is a classically trained tenor specializing in opera and musical theater. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance and has showcased his talent in various productions. Aaron performed with Gulfshore Opera as a leading member of the ensemble in Elixir of Love and Turandot. Demonstrating his versatility and passion for engaging with audiences, Aaron is becoming a favorite solo artist in community concerts and private events with Gulfshore Opera, . He is thrilled to continue collaborating with the company and looks forward to future performances and projects.
Soprano Nicole Woodward, praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for her “rich” and “coruscating” voice, has trained with top young artist programs, including Merola Opera, Central City Opera, and Sarasota Opera. Recent roles include Tosca (St. Pete Opera), Wellgunde (American Wagner Project), and Zweite Dame (Sarasota Opera). She recently starred as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire (Florida State University). In concert, she has performed with the San Antonio Symphony, Kalamazoo Symphony, and others. Nicole has earned recognition from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, AIMS Meistersinger Competition, and the Wagner Society of Washington DC.
Josh Shaw, named as one of Musical America’s Top 30 Professionals of the Year in 2023, Josh Shaw is the Founding Artistic Director and CEO of Pacific Opera Project (POP), which has been described as “L.A.’s most exciting new opera company.”
Josh made his GO debut with La Bohème in 2020, a production that was halted by the pandemic but triumphantly returned the following season. He has since directed The Barber of Seville, Don Giovanni, and Turandot, among others. His innovative Hollywood-style adaptation of Die Fledermaus (The Bat’s Revenge) was so successful that he later reprised it in Los Angeles. With a reputation for blending traditional opera with fresh, creative storytelling, Josh is set to bring a visually stunning and emotionally moving Rusalka to life.
Alexandra Enyart, praised as “one of Chicago’s greatest operatic gifts” (Chicago Theatre Review), has conducted with The Atlanta Opera, Opera Santa Barbara, and the Australian Contemporary Opera Company. She is the Artistic Director of Ouroboros Opera and acting Music Director for the Non-Conformist’s Orchestra. A Chicago Sinfonietta and “Turn the Spotlight” fellow, she won the CODA Conducting Competition (2017) and CCM’s Mozart Overture Conducting Competition (2018). Career highlights include the L.A. premiere of Rusalka and the Australian premiere of As One. Passionate about young artists, she has taught at Mozart in the Knobs, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, and more.
