Gulfshore Opera is adjusting to the times by offering a series of outdoor community concerts featuring regional artists starting in mid-October. Enjoy a mid-day concert at a picturesque location, on the campus of St. Leo Catholic Church in Bonita Springs. The Breezeway Series features members of the GO Divas in three unique concerts. “Divas in Duet” will feature Lauryn Kay and Lauren Davis singing a variety of songs and duets in English accompanied by Kelly Utterback. “Songs of South America” will feature Venezuelan soprano, Erika Ramirez and Venezuelan classical guitar master, Pablo Gámez. The GO Divas full sox voice ensemble make their official public debut on the lawn stage at Mercado Sunday afternoon, November 1. The concert will highlight the artistry and versatility of this unique vocal ensemble as they crossover from opera to sophisticated acapella arrangements of Beatles songs. You can also catch them in Punta Gorda at the Divas & Dinner concert where the full ensemble will voice ensemble with perform beautiful songs in rich vocal harmony at Carmelo’s Italian Ristorante. The final concerts in December will be “Renaissance Christmas Carols”. The GO Divas will perform Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols and other early carols in Renaissance costume with a candlelight procession.
The new Miami based pop/opera group The Latin Divos makes their Southwest Florida debut October 25 with Divos & Dinner, a Latin flavored evening at the Strand Club courtyard stage. Born and raised in Cuba, where music and arts vibrate on every corner, it’s no wonder that The Latin Divos (Ernesto, Fernando and Will) have quickly captured the attention and hearts of audiences around the world.
The group, based in Miami, was founded in 2017 by violinist, saxophonist and singer Will Corujo. They take Latin pop, traditional songs and opera hits and “Latinize” them, singing in Italian, English, Spanish and French. The group has performed in prestigious theaters and venues around the USA and Latin America, individually performing in more than 25 Countries. They have had the honor of sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in Latin music. Grammy Award winning composer and singer Alejandro Jaen asked The Latin Divos to participate on his latest album and went on to compose their first original single entitled “Hoy Podras Volar”. They just released their album “Forever Classics”, containing audience favorites like: Hallelujah, Caruso, O Sole Mio, Quizas Quizas and more to enjoy beautiful melodies from all times.
The Latin Divos return to spice up the new year with an evening concert at the Mercato lawn stage in Naples on January 14.
